Ke'e Beach - Kauai Wedding Venues
Ke’e beach is located on Kauai’s north shore at the end of Highway 560 past Ha’ena. This beach has several features that make it one of our favorite beach wedding locations and is a popular destination wedding location.
The View: This is a beautiful section of the Kauai Coastline. This section of the Na Pali coast will make a wonderful back drop for your wedding pictures and give you a very romantic location for the wedding. From this location you are also able to get some great sunset pictures to add into your wedding photo album.
The Beach: This is a wide section of beach which will provide many different possible locations for your wedding ceremony and reception. There is a nice contrast between the rolling sand beach and the sections of rock adding variety to the beach view. The water in this area also has a beautiful contrast between the deeper water (deep turquoise and blue) outside the lagoon and the shallower water (light sandy turquoise).
Other Facilities: Ke’e beach also has the advantage of having restrooms.
There are often also venders selling drinks, the famous Hawaiian shaved ice, and other items on the way at the Haena beach park. It is best to make sure you have everything you need before
the wedding. Bottled water, fans and parasols for guests is always a good idea. Of course if you are planning to have the wedding catered at a private
venue after the beach ceremony, food and drinks will not be an issue, but you should let Diana know of any special needs you have during the wedding planning stage so she can be sure everything is ready for your guests.
The Surf: During the summer the lagoon area is normally pretty calm. The surf can get much rougher during the winter. It is best to talk to Diana to see if this area would be appropriate for the time of year you are planning your wedding.
Accessibility: If you are staying in one of the resorts or hotels on the South side of the island there is a bit of a drive to get to this beach. There are some one lane bridges to cross which for many just ads to the charm of this area. You do need to remember bridge etiquette though. If you happen to rear the bridge when there is a little traffic, normally only 5-7 cars will use the bridge in one direction before stopping to allow some cars to go in the other direction. There is usually sufficient parking in the main parking lot
before getting to this beach. Later in the day is best
to have the opportunity to park closer.
Availability: This is a popular beach and can be more crowded, since it is at the end of the road. We walk to the the
farther end to do our best to avoid most people, and capture the best view of the
coastline.
