kauai wedding planning

Traci & James

Traci & James had their wedding ceremony at Poipu Beach. It’s usually quite crowded for weddings, but we found a private spot.

When they put leis on their parents to honor them, I got choked up a bit myself.

Traci added a nice idea, to have guests write well wishes on river rocks. Something to have as a great keepsake.

There were these two roosters fighting briefly on the lawn at the reception at Hale Pohaku, not something most people see everyday! It was actually quite hilarious, neither of them were injured.tj16

Alex & Coy

Alex & Coy had their wedding ceremony earlier in the day. It was really hot , but they had very bright pictures! The Plumeria leis are so fragrant. They are very fragile and brown easily, but held up quite well considering. ac2ac5ac4ac8ac9ac6ac7ac10ac1

Lisa & Linden

Lisa & Linden came to Kauai all of the way from Wodonga Australia!

Wonderful wedding ceremony on the beach at Ho’ai Bay. This is right down the road from The Beach House restaurant, where they enjoyed their dinner reception.

Loved her vail. It was adorned with heavy crystals that weighed it down perfectly  so that it didn’t blow around too much. They sparkled so nicely in the sun.

Nancylynn & Frank

Nancylynn and Frank had a perfect day on Shipwrecks beach, fronting the Grand Hyatt Kauai. It was like they had the whole beach to themselves. Nancylynn had no fear, wanting to go out onto to rocks. With the waves here you have to be really careful! Keeping it simple they dressed casual and enjoyed their intimate ceremony, just the two of them.

Catherine & Jonathan

Catherine & Jonathan were married at the Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens in Kilauea, Kauai.

The harpist was a wonderful touch to enhance the mood of romance in the air. They had a nice little rainbow to enjoy down on the beach afterward. I don’t believe that they have many back home in Oklahoma!

This is truly the best private wedding venue on Kauai! It offers lush gardens, lagoon waterfall and beach access. There are many areas on this estate ideal for a ceremony large or small.

Elizabeth & Brian

Elizabeth and Brian were married at The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Lihue.

They enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the lawn at the Huki Lau Lanai followed by reception.

They really knew how to dance; Brian and his mom especially!

All of guests did the Electric Slide together perfectly. They did the traditional money dance too, man that is hilarious!

Kaitlyn & Kellen

Kaitlyn & Kellen were such a pleasure, so gracious! They are both just 21 years old which makes it much more expensive to rent a car apparently!

They were married at Ho’ai Bay also called Babies Beach in Poipu. We pretty much had the entire beach to ourselves. Occasionally we’d see a turtles head pop up out of the surf.

After the ceremony we went to the lawn at Kiahuna for a few more pictures. Kaitlyn’s mom and grandma were in attendance. It’s neat to see the generations of women together.

Furaha & Jerry

Furaha & Jerry had such a perfect day.!

There was a Hawaiian monk seal down on the beach during the wedding. He slept through the entire time though. This beach is below the Hanalei Bay Resort also called Pu’u Poa beach. Very nice, with the distant view of Bali Hai in the background.

They honored their ancestors by jumping the broom! pretty cool. I was afraid that they were going to fall though. It’s hard to jump on the sand in a long dress!

We had a duo of saxophone and guitar, which sounded lovely, a first for me.

Natasha & Doug

Oh young couples in LOVE! Natasha and Doug were married at the Hanalei Bay Resort Princeville.

She was quite nervous up until she locked eyes with her groom to be!

Shannon & Tim

Shannon and Tim came all of the the way from Fayettville Arkansas to share their vows with each other at the Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens in Kilauea. We took pictures all over their 240 acre gardens and had a great time doing it! There were so many orchids blooming and there was a vine of Jade in red and in blue. Amazing! Love those flowers!
