John & Kristina

Kristina & John had their wedding ceremony as well as reception at the National Tropical Botanical Gardens in Poipu.
I couldn’t get over how stunning she looked in her couture dress, simply gorgeous, with a beautiful smile on all day!
After the visitors center garden ceremony the guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while the bridal party took picture by the Lotus Pond. The pink and white lotus flowers were  in full bloom and just lovely!
Then the bride and groom ventured deep into the gardens together for pictures at the natural waterfall.

All guests enjoyed a hula show during dinner, with everyone getting up and joining the dancers to show them some moves!DJ for dancing complete with lights, bubbles and fog. With a fire show as the grand finale! What a perfect day

Ashleigh & Shaun

I have to say that Shaun & Ashleigh’s wedding was the the most beautiful I have ever seen! I am a bit biased though… Ashleigh is my little sister, guess not so little anymore:) Quite challenging to hold the roles of wedding coordinator, big sister and bridesmaid. All went better than either of us could have hoped for really!  That being said I was pretty sure that I wouldn’t be able to capture all of the elements with my own camera to post, as I usually do. The images posted as you can see are from Charity V, and Liz Belfor’s I’ll post too. It is interesting to see the very different styles of these two extremely talented ladies capturing the same wedding. Charity was asked to capture more of the decor, while Liz captured the wedding itself,  the joy and emotion of the day.

Kelvin Ho is a Hawaiian minister that I am honored to work with quite often, so I have seen and heard his ceremony many times, though this time I could not stop crying!

While the guests were enjoying cocktails I showed the newly weds the reception set up and Ash started crying. That’s a moment I’ll cherish for a long time. So many tears of joy were shared on such a perfect day! Many elements were kept secret including the ice sculpture!

We had the ceremony at The Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens and reception at Plantation Gardens. Having shuttle services provided for all guests made travel between these two locations ,( one North side and one being south side of the island )possible. It just had to be done in order to have the ideal venues for both wedding ceremony and reception. The wedding guests traveled from St Augustine Florida and Ontario Canada to attend, so what’s a little extra travel time!

All guests enjoyed a great authentic Luau show complete with fire dancer, and dancing throughout the evening. I even enjoyed some Lavender Pina Coladas my self!

Here is to weddings and family!

Emily & Mike

Emily and Mike were married at Princeville on the North Shore of Kauai.

Most of their family were visiting from New York and were very happy to be able to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Hawaii for their destination wedding. The ceremony was held cliff side and the reception at the Princeville Golf Club House. You can see mount Makana , or ‘Bali Hai’ from the terrace. Mike was by Emily’s side in all aspects of planning. It was very clear to me that Emily’s happiness came first. He had the great idea of having a Bananas Foster Flambé Station for dessert. Yum! Pretty much all of their ninety guests hit the dance floor, and they had some moves! It was almost sad for me to have their day come because the fun of planning with them was over.Wedding archBride - emilyBlack and White Kiss Read the rest of this entry »

Jenny & Daniel

Jenny & Daniel traveled all of the the way from Switzerland to have their wedding on the beautiful North Shore of Kauai. The St Regis Princeville offers such a great location for wedding ceremonies. The backdrop is stunning with Makana , aka Bali Hai, and the mountains of Hanalei Bay in the distance. At this location we can have chairs for all guests and any decor we like, and still have a beachside ceremony. Jenny was  so very detail oriented. We worked closely with Martin Roberts Design Florists to be sure that her wedding colors were just right . The contrasts of the coral, orange with blue and turquoise were so striking.St Regis Wedding HawaiiOrange Orichidsorange Orchid CenterpieceHanalei Bay weddingSt Regis Wedding Read the rest of this entry »

Tina & Adam

Tina & Adam

I really can’t begin to express how delightful it was to be part of Tina & Adams special wedding day on Kauai.Tina had many wonderful elements that made their wedding even more special. They named the tables after mythical locations, from Wonderland  to Whoville! Such a neat idea! Each couple shared a bottle of yummy dessert wine to take home, and everyone had a locally made macaroon. It’s so nice when couples can take the time to  add that personal touch to their event. They even  brought many framed pictures from home of their family to be displayed at the reception.

Their first dance was by far the best I have ever seen! Those dance lessons really paid off the way they glided across the dance floor,  absolutely glowing with so much love  for each other. A very fun time was had by all.white wedding flowersWalking down the islewedding under a tree Read the rest of this entry »

Elizabeth & Montana

Elizabeth & Montana had such a gorgeous day for their wedding on Lumahai Beach Kauai. We can only have weddings in the summer on this beach due to unpredictable & dangerous surf. Some waves came up a bit higher than expected a few times. The videographer got wet but the bride didn’t! Kelvin Ho was their minister for their Hawaiian ceremony. They wrote their own vows, which made them both cry of course. I tend to always bring  a parasol to weddings just in case someone is getting too much sun, and so we used it for pictures after the ceremony. I would never recommend for a bride to have such a long and unbeaded vail on the beach, because it blows around so much, but it made for a great entrance and once it got to be too much of a bother we took it off. Her white Phalaenopsis orchid bouquet was quite stunning, as was the bride herself. I couldn’t decide if I preferred some of the images in black and white or color, so I posted both.

Renae & Heath

What a beautiful sunset wedding Renae and Heath had with a spectacular view of Bali Hai!.

They had an intimate beach ceremony on Kauai with close family and friends visiting all of the way from Australia.I have to say I really don’t know what it is about Australia that makes the people from there so cool, laid back and fun loving! There must be something in the water!

Renae’s son Sam was and front center for the ceremony, not missing a word. They exchanged leis , did the water sharing Hawaiian ceremony with minister  Kelvin Ho and enjoyed a stroll down what lucky enough turned into being a  private beach for pictures. The conch shell blower was a fun touch, and after the ceremony Sam got to try blowing the shell too.

This beach is ‘Pu’uPoa’ also called Princeville beach by most is such a great beach for weddings. Very accessible through The Hanalei Bay Resort, St. Regis or many public access stairs.

They had their wedding reception at the St Regis on the terrace. We hired the Nostalgic Hawaiian musicians for the cocktail hour.   Yummy cup cakes instead of a wedding cake and the white phalaenopsis orchid centerpieces, which I just loved!
